Part 5: How do I overclock my Blue & White G3?

Ok, now the fun begins! It's time to actually crack open the case and begin with the surgery.

Step by step walkthrough of how to overclock your B&W G3:
(Note: While doing this, if you have any problems or are unsure of exactly what to do, stop where you are, reverse
everything you've done and contact me to ask what to do.)

Step 1:

Print this page.
(Note: Before proceeding to step 2, skip to step 9 and print out some of the diagrams.)

Step 2:

Shut down your computer.

Step 3:

Open the G3's case by locating the latch on the top of the right side of the case. Pull on the latch, the case should open.
Now gently lower it down until the side is now flat on the desk/floor/wherever the computer is.

Step 4:

Put on your anti-static bracelet. If you don't have one, touch the computer's power supply case (found in the top, left, back
of the inside of the computer) with your finger.

Step 5:

Locate and carefully remove the "VOID WARRANTY if seal is broken" sticker.

Step 6:

Pick up your pair of needle-nosed plyers and touch the tip of them to the power supply case.

Step 7:

Use the plyers to very gently pull off the beige jumper cap (located right under where the warranty sticker was).

Step 8:

Find a safe place to store the jumper cap and keep it there. Make sure you don't lose it so that if for some reason you
need/want to put it back on, you can find it with no problems.

Step 9:

Place the individual jumpers you have onto the pins using these diagrams:
(Note: If your current CPU speed is 400MHz, overclock it to 450MHZ.)
(Note: Touch the tweezers to the power supply case to ground them. Then use them to pick up and place the jumpers onto
the correct pins.)

300MHz
350MHz
400MHz
450MHz
500MHz
550MHz
600MHz
650MHz
700MHz

Step 10:

Now that you have placed the jumpers on to make your computer 50MHz faster than it was before, put the jumper cap back
on, close the case by lifting the side panel back up, pull on the latch, pressing the case shut, then letting go of the latch.
(Note: Make absolutely sure that the case is completely closed before letting go of the side.)

Step 11:

Start up the computer. If the computer fails to start up, then repeat steps 2 and 3, place the original jumper cap back
onto the pins, repeat step 10 (close the case) and go back to whatever you used to do. Your CPU is unable to go any faster
than it did before. If however, it starts up no problem, repeat steps 2 and 3 and try setting the jumpers to the setting for
the next speed up. Repeat step 10. Continue doing this until you have either reached your desired speed or until it doesn't
start up. If it doesn't start up, re-read the beginning of this step. If you reach your desired speed, make sure the case
is closed, the original jumper cap is in a safe spot and then proceed to the next part. (Part 6: I've overclocked my Blue &
White G3, now what?)
